How MNTNFRAME Works
MNTNFRAME pulls global weather data, mountain models and resort reporting, then draws your mountain on an e-ink screen: fresh snow by elevation, base and summit temperatures, and wind and gusts on the peaks. It refreshes itself over WiFi through the day, so the wall is always current.
More than 1,850 resorts across 30 countries. Choose your mountain and the frame follows you. No app to open, no notifications, nothing to unlock.
6 months+ battery life
You never need to plug it in. MNTNFRAME runs on a rechargeable battery that tops up over USB-C, and a single charge lasts 6 months and more of normal use, a whole season and then some.
The e-ink display only draws power when the image actually changes, so between refreshes it sits on the wall using nothing at all.
Build & Design
Made to earn its place on the wall. A faux wood finish in warm walnut over a moulded shell, with a steel kickstand so it stands on a shelf just as well as it hangs.
Built to be lived with and to last. No fan, no glow, no cable trailing down the wall, and 6 months and more between charges.

How does the battery last 6+ months?
The e-ink display uses the same technology as a Kindle and only draws power when the image actually changes. A single USB-C charge lasts 6+ months of normal use.
Is the screen readable in sunlight?
Yes. E-ink reflects light like paper, so it gets easier to read in bright sun rather than harder. No glare, no backlight, and sharp from across the room.
What does always-on mean?
Unlike a phone or tablet that goes dark, the e-ink screen holds its image 24/7 with no power draw. No wake button, no timeout, no loading spinner. Just your latest mountain report on the wall, ready the moment you glance at it.
How does MNTNFRAME forecast the mountain?
We pull global weather model data and read it at your resort's own elevations, so snowfall and temperature are reported at base, mid and summit rather than as one number for the valley. Wind and gusts are read at ridge height. Forecasts refresh every few hours.
What does it show?
The Mountain Report: your resort at a glance, today plus a seven day outlook with snowfall bands, highs and lows at base and summit, wind, and surface conditions, with the previous week's snowfall along the bottom. Out of season it becomes a countdown to first snow with your own photo. The forecast is free forever; lifts, runs and the resort's official depth come from the resorts themselves via OnTheSnow, our resort data partner, and need a subscription from $9.99 a year.

Do I need a subscription?

A subscription adds the detail the resorts report themselves through OnTheSnow, our resort data partner: lifts and runs open, terrain open, official base depth and surface conditions, plus richer visual slides, more resorts to follow, and more than one sport on the same frame.
