How Swellframe Works
Swellframe pulls global weather data, ocean models and buoy readings, then scores every session for your exact spot and draws it on an e-ink screen. It refreshes itself over WiFi through the day, so the wall is always current.
Built for surf, snow and other marine sports. Choose your break, your resort or your launch, and the frame follows you. No app to open, no notifications, nothing to unlock.

You never need to plug it in. Swellframe runs on a rechargeable battery that tops up over USB-C, and a single charge lasts 6 months and more of normal use.
The e-ink display only draws power when the image actually changes, so between refreshes it sits on the wall using nothing at all.
Build & Design
Made to earn its place on the wall. A faux wood finish in warm walnut over a moulded shell, with a steel kickstand so it stands on a shelf just as well as it hangs.

Different sports depend on different conditions. Swellframe combines global models for the big picture, high-resolution regional models for local timing, and live observations where available. Surf focuses on swell, period, wind and tide. Kite and windsurf focus on wind speed, gusts and direction. Snow focuses on snowfall, depth, mountain wind and lift status. All of that data becomes one clear forecast you can act on.

How does the battery last 6+ months?
The e-ink display uses the same technology as a Kindle and only draws power when the image actually changes. A single USB-C charge lasts 6+ months of normal use.
Is the screen readable in sunlight?
Yes. E-ink reflects light like paper, so it gets easier to read in bright sun rather than harder. No glare, no backlight, and sharp from across the room.
What does always-on mean?
Unlike a phone or tablet that goes dark, the e-ink screen holds its image 24/7 with no power draw. No wake button, no timeout, no loading spinner. Just your latest surf forecast on the wall, ready the moment you glance at it.
How does Swellframe forecast the surf?
We pull live ocean and global weather model data, then apply a per-spot model that accounts for the continental shelf, swell period, break type, and local calibration. Every session is scored for size, wind, and tide so you get a read on the day rather than raw numbers. Forecasts refresh every few hours.
What does it show?
You can mix and match slide formats. 2-day Focus gives an hourly breakdown of waves, wind, tide, and session ratings. 7-day Overview shows the full week at a glance with the best sessions ranked. Local Insights is a plain language read on the day's conditions and the best times to paddle out. Add, remove, and reorder slides from the portal, and each one can show a different spot.
